Co-Generation stated that production of two useful sources with investing single type of raw material.
In Sugar Processing Industries in Sugar Processing Industries, co-generation is involved to generate electricity and finished sugar at one time. It passes through various stages for the conversion of sugarcane into finding sugar.
In the above sketch, harvested sugar cane is crushed through crusher machine, through which juice is extracted. Extracted juice is at boiling temperature when it evaporates, it starts crystallization.
Crystallization coverts juice into molasses. Centrifuging is important to extract the fine crystals of sugar, which present inside the molasses. Crystal of sugar has moisture after centrifuging, due to which, it needs to further send to Hopper Drier for drying the crystal. After it, sugar is packed and sends to the market.

After crushing the sugar cane, bagasse is also a byproduct of sugar cane. Bagasse is sent to the boiler, for the combustion. The Boiler generates steam, which is sent to the turbo generator. Turbo Generator generates the electricity and heat, heat is re-using in crystallization, centrifuging and drying process etc.
We can get optimum output through the source. Sugarcane is widely available in India. It, s by product
Bagasse is agro waste, but we can use it for power generation.
